Pulleys - Caged
Caged Pulley is recommended when the wire turns at an acute angle, a problem spot leading to wire jumping. When guided in a caged pulley, the wire runs on a revolving roller surface between two diamond-polished side plates, keeping friction to a minimum, while a floating ball or one or two protruding ears prevent the wire from jumping. The exploded view of a NT 064 below left illustrates the construction of a floating ball caged pulley.
We depict below the dimensional drawings of the more popular caged pulleys.
